Fills in by year two; if you want tidier, swap to Allegheny spurge but expect slower coverage. Anyone run this under mature oaks with zero irrigation?

Liriope creep drives me nuts — on shaded trail edges I’ve had better luck swapping in Allegheny spurge (Pachysandra procumbens); plant plugs 8–10 inches on center, tuck leaf litter around them, and use a cheap moisture sensor to avoid overwatering while it settles. It’s slower than Carex the first year and prefers slightly acidic soil, but once it knits it shrugs off weeds and splash from foot traffic. How dry are those edges and do you have deer pressure, @Guide?
