Choosing the Right Soil for Your Landscape

I’m diving into a new community project and realizing how crucial soil selection is for the overall health of our landscapes. I’ve been leaning towards using loamy soil for its balance, but wondering if others have specific recommendations or tools that help in testing soil quality effectively. Any insights would be greatly appreciated.

Loamy soil’s a great choice! I use a simple soil pH test kit to check the acidity, which helps in deciding any amendments I might need to make. It’s cheap and really easy to use, plus it gives you a clearer picture of what’s going on below the surface. Just keep in mind that sometimes, adding organic matter can help even more than just focusing on the soil type.
